Stair parts accessories — the finishing details

The small parts are what make a staircase look professionally finished: baluster shoes that cover the base of iron balusters, fillets that fill the gaps between wood balusters, rosettes where a handrail meets the wall, and cove molding that tucks under the tread nosing. We mill the wood trim — fillets, cove molding and rosettes — in our Pennsylvania workshop, and stock baluster shoes and connectors to match.

How to choose

Match shoes to your baluster size and finish, choose fillets sized to your handrail's plowed groove, and order cove molding and trim to match your tread nosing and species. Add a little extra linear footage for waste.
