Because the newel carries the visual weight of the railing, it often sets the tone for the entire stair. Our box newels are built in Pennsylvania in traditional raised-panel and clean modern profiles, with chamfered, flat or pin tops.

How to choose

Pick a newel height and width that stays proportional to your stair and handrail, decide between a starting newel (bottom) and landing or intermediate newels, and match the species or paint grade to your balusters and handrail.
