Building your stair railing

A stair railing is the full system — handrail, balusters and newel posts working together. Buying the parts from one source keeps the species, finish and profiles consistent, so the finished stair looks built-in rather than assembled. We mill our wood railing components in our Pennsylvania workshop and stock iron balusters and fittings to match.

Start with the handrail profile, choose iron or wood balusters to match your style, anchor it all with proportional newel posts, and add the fittings and shoes that finish the connections.
