About solid wood stair treads

Stair treads are the horizontal boards you step on, and solid wood treads — especially bullnose treads with a rounded front edge — give a staircase a finished, custom look while standing up to daily traffic far better than carpet. We make solid wood stair treads in our Pennsylvania workshop in standard, bullnose and mitered-return styles, in oak, poplar and more.

How to choose

Measure your tread depth and width, decide between a bullnose (rounded) or square front edge, choose one or two mitered return ends if the tread is open on the side, and pair with matching risers to finish the stair.
